You Have Dirty Air Filters
If your air filter is dirty, your heater won’t be able to get the air that it needs to heat and pump into your home. You should change your filter every 1-3 months, though the exact timing will depend on where you live and how often you run your comfort systems. If you can’t see light through your filter or you can see dust and dirt in it, it’s definitely time to change it.
Your Pilot Light Went Out
Without a pilot light, your furnace can’t heat. If you aren’t confident lighting it, call in one of our professionals to do it for you. If your furnace has an auto-light feature, you can use that to get the furnace heating again.
Your Gas Got Turned Off
If your gas lever got bumped or you turned it off and forgot, your furnace won’t be able to heat. Make sure the lever is turned fully toward the “on” position, then see if your heater will heat.
